Community Guidelines for wildcard dex
Last Updated: October 30, 2026
These guidelines apply to everything you share with other players: Finds, photos, reactions, display names, handles, profile pictures, leaderboard entries, and Public Dex contributions. You do not post written text to other players in the app. They are part of our Terms of Service.
In short: respect wildlife, habitats, and other people. Share only photos you have the right to share. Do not submit fabricated finds, manipulated evidence, harassment, or illegal content. Do not cheat or impersonate other players. Report inappropriate content or behavior using the in-app reporting tools.
Who Can Take Part
Community features are for players aged 16 and over. The solo collection game is open to everyone. If you are under 16, please do not use community features.
Respect Wildlife and Habitats
- Keep your distance. Do not chase, corner, handle, or bait animals to get a photo
- Stay away from nests, dens, and roosts, and leave young animals where you find them
- Stay on trails where required, and do not pick or damage protected plants
- Follow local laws, park rules, and closures
- Do not share content that shows people harming, trapping, or selling wildlife, or that encourages it
- Do not try to reveal where a rare or sensitive species can be found. The app removes location from shared photos, and some species cannot be shared publicly at all to protect them
Respect Other People
- No harassment, bullying, threats, or hate based on who someone is
- No sexual content, and nothing that sexualizes anyone
- No graphic or shocking content shared to upset people. Natural events, such as a predator with its prey, are fine when shared respectfully
- Do not share anyone's personal information, such as a home address, phone number, or account details, including your own
- Avoid photos where other people can be clearly identified unless they agreed
Be Honest
- Share only photos you took, or photos you have the right to share
- Do not present AI-generated, downloaded, or edited images as your own observations. Basic edits like cropping and brightness are fine
- Do not submit fabricated Finds or manipulated evidence
- Do not cheat on leaderboards, scores, or trades, and do not use more than one account to gain an advantage
- Do not impersonate other players, people, or organizations
Keep It About Your Observations
- A Find is a photo of something you observed, with its species
- Choose a display name, handle, and profile picture that follow these guidelines. Do not use them for spam, advertising, scams, or contact details
- To talk with other players about your finds, join the Wildcard Dex Discord. Its own rules apply there
Reporting and Blocking
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it in the app. You can report a Find, a Public Dex photo, or a profile. Choose the closest reason:
- Sexual or exploitative content
- Threats, harassment, or hate
- Personal information or an unsafe location
- Harm to wildlife or conservation risk
- Spam, scams, or impersonation
- Graphic content
- Something else
After you report something, it is hidden for you while we review it. The person you reported is not told who reported them.
You can also block a player. You and the blocked player will no longer see each other's Finds or profiles, and cannot send each other friend requests or trades. Blocking also cancels open trades between you.
What Happens When Guidelines Are Broken
- Content is checked automatically and may be reviewed by a person. Automated checks flag content for review; a person makes the final decision on reports
- Depending on what happened, we may leave content up, limit who can see it, remove it, or suspend or remove an account
- Serious harm, such as threats, sexual content involving minors, or illegal wildlife trade, can lead to immediate removal and may be reported to the authorities
- If we take an action that can be appealed, we tell you the decision and the reason in the app, and you can appeal it once
- Content you remove yourself is gone from view right away. You can delete a Find, change its audience, or withdraw a Public Dex photo at any time
Changes and Contact
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. When we make material changes, we update the date above and ask you to accept them in the app. Questions or concerns: support@wildcarddex.com.
